Yesterday, Eric Cantor said that he was a direct target of violence, too, just like the Dems are, because just last week someone shot a bullet through his window. Well, the local police confirmed that Cantor is full of shit, the bullet was a random gunshot that fell from the sky (Cantor’s district is a little bit gangy, apparently), and the window wasn’t even in his office. Rather it was the office of a political consultant Cantor employs from time to time.
Anyway, my point is that the people who take Eric Cantor’s story on its face are the same kind of people who believe that the “before” and “after” photos in these ads actually depict the same girl. So TPM may chastise Eric Cantor for floating some truth-deficient claim to gain some benefit, but in a way they’re doing the same thing.

Um, isn’t it a little more distressing that everyone’s like ‘Oh, OK, it was just a stray bullet’, like it’s acceptable for rounds of ammunition to be flying around a mid-sized American city as long as they aren’t intended for government officials?
